So it’s the middle of July… dun dun dun… and it’s hot. I don’t know about you, but this past week and a bit has been a total killer for me. I’m not very hungry, and sleep is just a faint memory rudely disrupted with sporadic middle of the night restlessness due to humidity… and my hair?! forget it… so I need something that’s going to help me and my family survive the little heat wave we have been experiencing. I can’t say i’m complaining too much though… the winter we recently survived was one for the books, and I’m not sure I can comfortably say I wish we were back there… but happy fall medium would be lovely right about now.
What does all of this mean my dear friends? Well it means I need to come up with creative ideas to help feed my family AND not make out house jump in temperature. I would like to say I can ‘ do it all’ but realistically I can’t. That’s why today I have some awesome recipes from some great food bloggers out in the land of blogs to help spread a little chill into your summertime fun. I give you, Beat The Heat with These Cool Treats!
Of course I couldn’t start any good recipe round up without the help from one of my “Foodie Mamas“! Chrissie from The Busy Baker came out and shared with us her absolutely delicious frozen treat, Blackberry Mint Frozen Yogurt!
Next on the list of cool treats to beat this summer heat is a tasty single serve option! Awesome to make some now and save them for later! Kristy from She Eats shares her Sweet Summer Blackberry & Nectarine Margarita Popsicles!
I also want to give a shout out to one of my other “Foodie Mamas” Deepika from Easy Baby Meals! She shared with us her Black Grapes & Mixed Berry Juice.
I can’t get enough of mangoes, really… so when I saw this Mango Banana Ice Cream from Melanie at A Virtual Vegan. Make sure to note: this can be eaten for breakfast…. good thinking!
I can’t get enough of these ladies, and Sabrina (another “Foodie Mama”) shared her oh so fancy and delicious looking summer ‘burger’. The Most EPIC Banana Split Ice Cream Burger can be found over at her blog Dinner, Then Dessert!
Looking for a little more refreshment?! Why not try Dana’s Blueberry Lemon Sangria. This refreshing drink, and other drink recipes can be found on her blog, Killing Thyme.
Janet from The Taste Spaces shares another mango recipe! This Raw Mango Paradise Bar looks easy to make and even easier to devour!
All of these amazing recipes will defiantly be tested out in my house through out the summer! Follow me on Instagram and see how they turn out! I know we are ALL going to need some new, fun and delicious ways to keep cool this summer! Do you have any ways to beat the heat? Let me know and comment below!
